Tier Ranking All 100 of the Books I Read in 2020 // In Which I Struggle to Remember Anything About Them

Everybody is doing their end of the year lists, and I’m no different.

However, I had a hard time deciding how I wanted to do them. I didn’t know if I had enough to say to make individual best and worst books of the year lists, and if I included all of those in one post, which categories I’d include and how many books I’d put in each category. The idea of simply tier-ranking all of the books I read in 2020 came to me because tier-ranking was a trend on book twitter and booktube a while ago, so I thought “Why not?”.

Guessing 2020 Book Release’s Plots Based on Nothing But Their Covers // In Which My Dreams of Becoming a Psychic Crash & Burn

The saying goes, “You should never judge a book by its cover.”

But that’s what we’re gonna do today!!! I’ve compiled a bunch of books releasing in 2020 that I know absolutely nothing about, and I think it’ll be fun to try and guess their premises based solely on what I can glean from their covers. Book Twitter has been annoying me lately.

To be fair, it’s almost always annoying, but is it just me, or has April been worse than usual? Once in a while, someone on book twitter tweets about how “there are no f/f books” or “there are no good f/f books”, and I am t i r e d. Both of these takes are so wrong, and kinda rooted in misogyny if you think about it, but we won’t get into that here. Instead, I’ll just passive aggressively compile a list of all the f/f books I’ve ever read and want to read!

The Women’s History Book Tag // Intelligent Female Characters, Award-Winning Books, & Bad-ass Historical Women

In true Caitlin fashion, this post is late.

International Women’s Day has come and gone, but here I am doing the Women’s History Book Tag! But every day is a perfect time to celebrate feminism—which is what I’m telling myself to comfort myself about the fact that this post is late. Thank you so much to Caro @ Bookcheshirecat for tagging me! And thank you to Margaret @ Weird Zeal for creating this wonderful tag that does a great job of highlighting women’s history. πŸ’—

Recommending Books I Gave 3 Stars // the Queen of 3-star Reads has spoken

In case you didn’t know, I am the self-proclaimed Queen of 3-star Reads.

And I have a lot of feelings toward 3-star reads. In the long ongoing “Is 3 stars a good or bad rating” debate, I am a firm member of the “good” side. If I rated a book 3 stars, I still liked it and recommend it! Maybe I just didn’t enjoy it enough to rate it higher or there were some flaws that served as a detriment to my enjoyment. But bottom line, it’s a good rating for me. And today I’m going to recommend 10 books that I gave 3 stars.
