It’s time for the fourth annual book blogger awards!!
If you don’t know, the Book Blogger Awards was revived by the wonderful May @ Forever and Everly last year, and this year the equally wonderful Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books is co-hosting. I’m not gonna explain how it works, so make sure to check out either May or Marie’s post to find out about the BBAs, including what it is, how to nominate, and more!
I’m so excited to nominate and gush about some of my favorite bloggers. However, I must first give the disclaimer that if you’re not here, it doesn’t mean I don’t love you. Every blogger puts loads of time and effort into their content and deserves appreciation! Even if I didn’t nominate you, or only two people nominated you, or no one nominated you at all, you’re still a great blogger!! Your value as a person/blogger is not defined by how many times you were nominated for an award.
Finalizing my list of nominees took days, because I have too many favorite bloggers and I didn’t want to nominate people just because I felt obligated to. To make it easier to narrow down my list of nominees, I placed a few restrictions on who I’m nominating:
- I did not nominate any bloggers who haven’t posted in more than a week at the time this post was scheduled.
- I did not nominate any bloggers who I love, but couldn’t think of much to say about. 😭
Best Pre-Teen / Teen Book Blogger (13-19)
🌿 Lais @ The Bookish Skies: Lais’ blog is dripping with personality!! I associate so many things with her, like boy bands, rom-coms, contemporary books, and more. And I look forward to receiving a comment from her every time I post, because she always has something insightful to say about something I said. Plus, she gives great book recommendations, most of which are diverse!!
Best Adult Book Blogger (20+)
Margaret @ Weird Zeal: Margaret is such an, I don’t know, sophisticated and organized blogger, which is why I think she fits best adult blogger perfectly. She publishes a variety of posts, ranging from discussions, to reviews, to recommendations, and more. I love reading all of them, but I specifically want to highlight her writing updates. It’s inspiring to see the progress she’s making on her WIPs, as I’m working one myself. :’)
Best YA Blogger
Kay @ Hammock of Books: Kay almost exclusively reads YA books, and her reviews of them are *chef’s kiss*. She also writes amazing discussions, and she’s a phenomenal blogger in general!! I love her aesthetic, her posts, and interacting with her. ❤
Best Book Reviews
Sofi @ A Book. A Thought: Sofi’s book reviews are so thorough! She explains what she thought about every aspect of a book so well. She’s also such a friendly blogger!! Interacting with her will no doubt make your day at least a little better. 🥺
Best Book Recommendations
Charlotte and Anna @ Reads Rainbow: Charlotte and Anna are so passionate about boosting LGBT media! I’m positive you’ll find at least ten LGBT books you haven’t heard of on their blog. Each of their book rec posts are comprehensive, and they make sure to list all the representation a book contains. And they not only recommend LGBT books, but also LGBT movies, TV shows, podcasts, and more!
Chana and Malka @ Paper Procrastinators: I love Malka and Chana so much!! Seriously, if you haven’t had at least one conversation with either of them, you’re missing out. You will no doubt fall in love with their friendliness and intelligence. Their discussions are the BEST. Some of my faves are Chana’s discussion on separating the art from the artist, Malka’s discussion on her experience with audiobooks, and their discussion on book tags, which they collaborated on.
Best Blog Aesthetic
🌿 Ash @ Starlight Strands: If you aren’t following Ash yet, what are you doing? Her posts are amazing, and she’s so! friendly! Her blog is so aesthetically pleasing—I adore her formatting and the colors she uses.
Tiffany @ Read by Tiffany: I nominated Tiffany for this award last year, and I’m nominating her for it again because she deserves it. She has such a great sense of aesthetic, as evidenced by her bookstagram and adorable pink blog. 😍 Her personality also matches her aesthetic—I love talking to her so much!
Best Writing Voice
🌿 Charis @ Charis Rae: Charis’ blog is so professional, and it reflects in her blogging voice. Her posts lowkey read like essays, and I always feel the urge to comment on them. She gives amazing advice, especially for writers, and I love her blog aesthetic so much. I can’t believe she has under 500 followers!!
🌿 Rhi @ Marshmallow Harmonies: Whenever I read one of Rhi’s posts, I can just feel her passion for blogging and enthusiasm to interact! I’ve come to see side notes as her trademark, and I’m 100% sure that if I read one of her posts without knowing she wrote it, I’d still be able to identify her as the author. 😌
Xandra @ Starry Sky Books: Xandra is definitely in my top three favorite bloggers of all time! I love her and her blog so much. She has a wonderful blogging voice, and whenever I talk to her, I’m always in awe of how kind and smart she is. She’s also the queen of giving blogging advice!! I wouldn’t be the blogger I am today without her advice and support. I highly recommend her blogging advice posts, especially her What I Wish I Knew Before I Started Blogging series to new bloggers!
Caro @ Book Cheshire Cat: Caro is a pro at blog hopping, and she always links a bunch of posts from other bloggers in her monthly wrap-ups. She’s also such a great buddy reader and friend. 🥺
🌿 Rukky @ Eternity Books: I adore talking about writing with Rukky—I just adore Rukky in general!! She’s so friendly and supportive! She interacts with so many blogs and leaves the best long comments. She also started The Serotonin Monthly (such a great name 😌), a feature where she promotes and supports bloggers!
Most Engaged in the Community
Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books: Seriously, what would the book blogging community look like without Marie? She’s such a great blogger. All of her posts are high quality, and she’s so kind! What I most admire about her is how much time she spends on blog hopping. I’m pretty sure there’s no book blogger she hasn’t interacted with at least once. She’s even co-hosting the book blogger awards with May. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the title “most engaged in the community”! But Marie, if you’re reading this, please take the time to rest. We love you and we’ll always support you even if you don’t have the time/energy to interact sometimes! 🥺
🌿 Vera and Sabrina @ Wordy and Whimsical: Vera and Sabrina have the most creative ideas for lists, discussions, and recommendations. Just some examples are A Bunch of Bookish Coincidences, The Best Opposites Attract Couples, and Eight Unpopular Character Opinions! Also, interacting with them is always a pleasure. ❤
Ilsa @ A Whisper of Ink: I love how snarky and funny Ilsa is!! And her book opinions are superior. Whenever she talks about why she likes or dislikes something, I’m like: correct 😍.
Friendliest Member of the Community
Olivia @ Purely Olivia: I love Olivia so much! If you’ve talked to her or read any of her posts, I’m sure you agree with my decision to nominate her for this award. She leaves the kindest and most supportive comments on so many people’s blogs, and her posts are overflowing with love. 🥺
🌿 Alexandra @ Reading by Starlight: I love talking to Alexandra! She has an amazing and bubbly personality, which makes her posts so fun to read. The comments she leaves on my blog are the best, and she always expands the conversation when I comment on one of her posts.
Best at Promoting Diverse Books
CW, Skye, and Joce @ The Quiet Pond: All three of the Pond friends are champions of diversity! I’m pretty sure there’s not a single non-diverse book to be found on their blog. Not only that, but they also boost diverse voices. I highly recommend reading their Asian Heritage Month and Pride Month series, where they published interviews and guest posts with Asian and queer members of the book community respectively.
Best Overall Book Blogger
May @ Forever and Everly: I LOVE MAY! I’m pretty sure she’s my favorite blogger of all time! Her blog is beautiful, and all of her posts are a pleasure to read. She’s a great friend with an amazing personality, and she works really hard to promote book bloggers and diverse books. I could go on and on, but basically, May is an amazing blogger, and I’m sure you understand why I nominated her for this award!!
I marked the small bloggers (or at least, the ones who I’m pretty sure have under 500 followers) with a 🌿!
If you feel betrayed right now, I’m so sorry. :(( I still love you!! Trust me, I had to exclude a lot of bloggers I adore from this post. 😭 I also have another post coming where I’ll mention my favorite bloggers who I didn’t nominate for an award!
